The Multimedia Staff has completed our inventory of CDs. Attached is the list of missing Cds.
On behalf of the Trible Library Media Center, I would like to thank all of those who have donated or have considered donating media items. It is wonderful to see the CNU Community contribute in aiding the growth of the DVD collection.
Thank you so much,
Sharon Whitfield
Multimedia Center Director
Faculty: Don’t forget that there is a March 3 deadline for submitting requested videos to be kept in the collection.
The Media Center will begin performing a shelf inventory of CDs. If items are missing, we will attempt to mark the item Missing so that it does not impede our Trible Library patrons.
Both the Access Services Librarian and the Multimedia Librarian have agreed to circulate Music CDs for a 5 day period for faculty. If a faculty member needs the Music CD for a longer period of time, please inform circulation staff and we will extend the circulation period.
At this time, it is unknown when we may be able to provide Color & Mac Printing to the CNU Community. The Media Center are also waiting on licenses for the Adobe Suite.
The Media Center is working with IT services to resolve the known problems.
Prior to this semester, the music collection was unavailable and did not circulate. The only way that students could gain access to the collection is by providing the call number.
We have been working with Plant Ops to make shelves easier for browsing. We have also acquired more shelves for the last bookcase so we shifted the music collection so that it is more browseable.
We have also heard that the classification method, Library of Congress (LC), is not the desired method of classification. Since we are still in the process of perfecting Trible Library Media Center services and are attempting to migrate to DVD, it would be impossible to consider adopting any form new classification or cataloging methods.
The best solution I can say is that you may want to consider searching within Amazon and then see if we have that item. I would recommend downloading the library toolbar to make searching easier.
Another thing to consider is using the Naxos trial database to search for titles.
